I’m a geek. I have an IT degree, and enjoyed it.
But most of my web knowledge is self-taught.
My IT degree is from the 1980s, when the guys at uni were still hacking around on Z80s, the Apple Lisa was considered really cool, and we still used MS-DOS commands instead of Windows.
My first IT job was programming at a bank on IBM mainframes in PL/1. Coders still didn’t have email addresses when I left to have kids and travel overseas. So I remember how helpless I felt when I needed to save my first screenshot, or unzip a file.
So here are a few links to posts on useful things you might not know if you’re new to the web:
Downloading YouTube Videos to iPods
Saving a file without a suffix
Resizing pictures
