Most of my web knowledge has been self-taught. I do have a degree in IT, but that was back in the 1980s, when the guys at uni were still hacking around on Z80s, with the Apple Lisa considered really cool, and we still used MS-DOS commands instead of Windows. My first real job was mainframe-based, and programmers still didn’t have individual email addresses when I left to have kids and travel overseas. So I remember how helpless I felt when I needed to save my first screenshot, or unzip a file.

So here are a few links to posts on useful things. And they’ll probably become obsolete over time, as they invent new easier ways of doing things.
